Making a Hovercraft(STEAM Project)
Along with working on my metal stool chair, I've also been working on a project at my school's STEAM Club. Last year I worked on making an individual life size hovercraft and present it at the science fair. This year, we are planning to make a new and improved version.

Fixing a Metal Stool Pt. 8
Last time I worked my stool chair, I was spot welding the triangular pieces flat against the foot ring rests I made and TIG Welded onto the legs of the stool.
Now it's time to finally add the finishing touches, and I'm finally done!

Mr. G's Class Projects
As the school year is coming to an end, I thought it would be best to make an end of the year post.
(This was a picture from my MIT Maker Portfolio up on YouTube. Check it out! www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5y6xch9YqQ )
I'm going to be briefly answering questions that will wrap up my senior year of my Machines & Tools Class.

Fixing a Metal Stool Pt. 7
I last left off with my stool when I was using an angle grinder to remove the stumps on the legs of my stool.
Right after, I had to bend my foot ring rest pieces at a 90 degree angle
And then....It was finally time to weld!

Fixing a Metal Stool Pt. 6
Last time I worked on my metal stool chair, I made the pieces for the foot rest ring. My next step was to bend them all on a 90 degree. But before I began to do that and weld them onto the legs of the stool, I had to do one more step.

Fixing a Metal Stool Pt. 5
I last left off my project on the Metal Stool Chair with the welding of the two legs. I knew that I wasn’t done yet. I had to make the foot rest ring that the stool chair needed.

Fixing A Metal Stool Pt. 3 (Learning About TIG Welding)
Continuing with the Metal Stool Project, I faced some difficulties welding the two legs together. As I was welding on the leg, I saw that I made hole on the top, flat part of the leg where the two legs will connect. Because of that, I couldn't use the MIG Welder even with lowest temperature. That's when I had to use a TIG Welder.

Fixing a Metal Stool Pt. 2
In this blog, I will be discussing the next steps my group took in order to fix the chair. After, we cleaned every part of the chair. We knew the next step was to start attaching the legs back to the plate of the chair. But the question was how??

Penny Battery
This year, I'm taking up a new challenge! I signed up to take a Machines and Tools class at my school and I can already say that it's really cool. My teacher Mr. G gave us a really interesting first assignment. He introduced my class to the invention of the first battery made out of copper and zinc!
Question: What's a penny battery?
Kelly: Basically it's a battery made out pennies!
